Between 5%, 10%, 25% or 40% so many percentages and always the same question, how to choose?
Each product contains very different amounts of CBD. However, it is essential to know the quantity of cannabis consumed in order to be able to dose it according to the desired effect. Deli Hemp explains how to master the dosage of its CBD oil.
Deli Hemp explains how to master the dosage of its CBD oil.
How Much CBD is in a Bottle of Oil?
The amount of CBD present in a bottle of oil is expressed as a percentage. A 5% vial of 10 ml therefore contains 500 mg of CBD, while than a 40% vial contains 4000 mg.
So the higher the percentage, the more the oil is concentrated in the CBD. Knowing the dose of active ingredient will allow you to estimate the amount of oil to consume according to your goals.
CBD oil is sold in a glass bottle with a stopper with a pipette. The most popular pipette model has a capacity of one milliliter or about 20 drops of oil. You can also check this by filling the pipette to the brim before emptying it by counting the drops.
Therefore, a 10ml bottle of CBD oil contains 200 drops. Then divide the total amount of CBD in a bottle of oil by the number of drops (200) to get the concentration of CBD in one drop.
Therefore, a drop of 5% CBD oil contains 2.5 mg of the active ingredient, a 10% oil, 5 mg of CBD, and a 40% oil, 20 mg of CBD.
While knowing the concentration of CBD in an oil is essential to determining how much to consume, it is not the only factor to consider. The composition CBD oil is also important. It is indeed recommended to choose a full spectrum product containing CBD, but also other cannabinoids and terpenes that enhance the effect of cannabis through the entourage effect.
But then how much CBD oil to consume?
Now that you know how the concentration of CBD in your oil is calculated, all you need to do is measure how much to take orally. The general rule of thumb is to consume a small dose of CBD first (limit the number of drops per day or choose a low dose oil) and gradually increase the dose until the desired effect is achieved. You can start by taking in 5-10 mg of CBD per day.
We each react to CBD differently, depending on physical criteria such as body size, but also individual sensitivity. The dosage of CBD oil also depends on the expected effects.
To reduce mild stress, 2.5 mg of CBD per day may be sufficient. However, if your anxiety causes more serious conditions such as insomnia or severe migraines, oral doses of CBD may be higher, 40 to 160 mg or more per day.
Finally, the relief of chronic pain may require the consumption of more of CBD oil. However, the values quoted are only guidelines and must be adapted on a case-by-case basis.
